Lansing City Futsal Moves to The Summit and Aim High
The Lansing City Futsal are pleased to announce they will be calling The Summit Sports and Ice Complex and Aim High Sports home for the 2018 season.
Lansing City competes in the Eastern Conference of National League of Professional Futsal (NAPFL). Last season, City finished third in the NAPFL, winning the last 7 out of 8 games. City will be practicing and hosting home games at Aim High Sports Complex during the spring and will then move to The Summit Sports and Ice Complex to practice and host home games during the National League season which is held March thru July.
Jeremy Klepal, owner and player, states “Our goal is to bring the Futsal experience to Lansing. What we have seen this past year and a half is a tremendous response from the Lansing community that has begun to embrace this sport. Our fan base has quickly grown, fueled by the 175+ youth academy player’s City has. We also have a strong group of players on the City team, two of which have represented the USA on an international futsal level. This partnership with The Summit and Greater Lansing Sports Authority for the 2018 National League Season will allow us to do just that. We will be creating a futsal “arena” environment in their field house which will provide an awesome atmosphere to watch the City Pro games and for our Youth Academy players to train in. We are beyond excited.”
The Summit Sports and Ice Complex and Greater Lansing Sports Authority are thrilled to partner with Lansing City. Mike Price of the Lansing Sports Authority says “Futsal is an emerging and rapidly growing sport in America. Jeremy and Lansing City Futsal have done a wonderful job exposing Lansing to the sport. In Partnership with Jeremy and The Summit Sports and Ice Complex, we look forward to making Lansing the epicenter of the sport in the Midwest. This partnership will create opportunity for our area youth to experience the sport for the first time, as well as making Lansing a destination location for matches and tournaments.”
