West Michigan Wolves Junior A Hockey Team Moves to Lansing, Michigan
The West Michigan Wolves of the North American Tier 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are pleased to announce they are moving operations to The Summit Sports and Ice Complex for the 2017-18 season.
Formerly, based out of Battle Creek, Michigan, the team will now be called the Lansing Wolves. The team, founded in 2010, plays in the East Division of the NA3HL. The team is coming off a record of 22-22-1 and a strong showing in the east division. Head Coach Mark Lawrence will be entering his third season behind the bench.
Head Coach Mark Lawrence stated, “In moving to this top-notch facility at The Summit, it allows us to grow as an organization with expected excitement in an already great hockey community.” The staff is working very hard to put a team on the ice to compete at the highest level possible in the competitive East Division. Lawrence continued, “without a doubt the reception from the staff and management from The Summit makes this a very exciting time.”
The Summit Sports and Ice Complex is a state-of-the-art facility that features a 1,200-seat capacity Olympic ice sheet and a NHL ice sheet. The complex also has a complete workout facility, a dedicated pro-style locker room, and an indoor turf facility. “We are thrilled to be home to the Lansing Wolves and are looking forward to bringing back junior hockey to the community,” said Paige Sauer, General Manager of The Summit Sports and Ice Complex.
The Summit Sports and Ice Complex is the former home of Capital Centre Pride of the NAHL. “This facility is most definitely a great hockey atmosphere to play in,” said Joe Burkhardt, Owner of the Wolves.
