Ages 3 to 5 years old. The Snowplow Sam levels are designed to help the preschool-age skater develop preliminary coordination and strength to maneuver on the ice.
Ages 6 or older. The “basic skills’ are the fundamentals of the sport. These eight levels of the program introduce the fundamental moves: forward skating, backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, turns and Mohawks. Upon completion of the Basic 1-8 levels, skaters will have a basic knowledge of the sport, enabling them to advance to more specialized areas of skating.
Basic 3 and above may require multiple sessions of classes prior to complete all elements to move to next level.
The Hockey curriculum is designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey skating. Players will learn how to maneuver faster and be more agile on the ice.
Prerequisite: Completion of Basic 2 or with Skating Director Permission

Recommended Attire:
Mittens and warm clothes that allow the skater to move freely. The Summit staff recommends supportive figure or hockey skates and bike helmet for beginners.
The Summit has developed a skating program for beginners and elite skaters alike. We believe that a strong skill base will allow a skater of any age to follow their dreams in the world of skating.
